How to Easily Manifest Your Wishes

Many of you have been reporting results ALREADY using my simple little morning ritual to help manifest your wishes. I am so happy for all of you who are already seeing success with this method. It’s VERY simple & ANYONE can do it regardless of your walk of faith. You don’t need to know anything about magic at all. Ingredients come from your home: a WARM beverage (MUST be warm or this doesn’t work, according to my own weeks of experimentation prior to posting this article), a KNIFE, and the most important ingredient of all ~ your POSITIVE EXPECTATIONS.

I recommend that you make this a daily routine for a minimum of 2 weeks. You WILL see a difference. The most common report I’ve received is that people feel more positive throughout their day if they perform this little ritual first thing in the morning. I originally posted this article a week ago & already people are reporting to me that some of the wishes on their list have already been fulfilled! Talk about amazing results!!

As for me, I began to see results in as little as 2 weeks, so please do keep this up for AT LEAST that long. Also, remember that wishes on behalf of your loved ones or that involve other people usually will take longer & require more energy so be patient with those types of wishes. Above all, keep & maintain a positive attitude. Know that you ARE worthy of receiving your wishes & that EVERYONE is entitled to their dreams coming true.

Thank you all for sharing this post. It is now the most popular post of all time at my blog.

May all your wishes come true!

Deck Review: Fairy Tale Lenormand

The Fairy Tale Lenormand by Lisa Hunt is a delightfully charming deck. Stemming from Lisa Hunt’s long interest in fairy tales (The Fairy Tale Tarot is also one of her creations), she painted the delicately soft watercolor images and Arwen Lynch wrote the accompanying guidebook. Published by US Games Systems, Inc, The Fairy Tale Lenormand immediately joined the ranks of my favorite Lenormand decks.

Scenes are depicted in soft, yet bright watercolor paintings that are intricate and highly detailed. The style is long familiar to fans of Lisa Hunt’s tarot decks. Hidden faces in clouds and rocks, intricately latticed tree roots and branches, along with tremendous attention to the finer details makes The Fairy Tale Lenormand a feast for the eyes. The cards measure 3 1/2 x 2 1/4″ with a light tan border containing muted scrollwork. Card numbers appear in the upper left-hand corner. Card titles and playing card associations are centered at the base of the card.

Consisting of the traditional 36 Lenormand cards, The Fairy Tale Lenormand, like most modern Lenormand decks, includes an extra pair of male and female cards. This is done to accommodate same-sex readings; and, some readers may wish to include both sets of gender cards in order to address situations in which there are a number of people involved. Card titles hold strictly to tradition with the female card entitled “Lady” and the male card entitled, “Gentleman.”

The accompanying guidebook is the same size as the cards. As it is quite small one would expect just a simple LWB (Little White Book, basically a pamphlet often found with tarot decks), but instead we are treated to an actual Lenormand card-size paperback book with an actual spine. The guidebook contains 124 pages. The fairy tale that is the inspiration behind each card is briefly summarized. Keywords and a general meaning are provided for each card. The guidebook concludes with several spreads: several examples of a Fan Spread using a focus card plus 3 additional cards, a 12-card Crossroads Spread, a 16-card Tower Spread, and a 12-card Happily Ever Afters Spread. This guidebook does not go into the longer Grand Tableau spread due to space constrictions, but a discussion of the Grand Tableau can be found in any number of new Lenormand books out on the market.

The Fairy Tale Lenormand comes housed in a lovely tin box. Lisa Hunt created artwork specifically for the box, which is decorated on all six surfaces. This set of deck and guidebook make for a very lovely presentation. The tin box provided sturdy and completely secure storage for the cards that allows for ease of travel. It’s a lovely little kit that I am sure any Lenormand reader would love.

If you’d like to see every card, please click on my YouTube video review of The Fairy Tale Lenormand. This is my VERY FIRST video deck review. I also invite you to view the other videos on my YouTube channel and subscribe if you like. There is plenty more to come.

How to Easily Manifest Your Wishes

There is great magical power in simplicity ~ David Bowie, in a dream of mine from 1978.

spell-candleIn other words, the simpler you can keep your magical practice, the better. You don’t need fancy chalices, athames, candles in every color of the spectrum, or the most expensive herbs & oils in order to effectively practice magic. Oftentimes, the simplest and least expensive of tools are the most effect.

Here is a case in point.

Two months ago I began a little magical experiment. I often carry out these experiments as I attempt to find other methods & practices that will end up working well for me by helping me to obtain the results I desire as quickly and simply as possible. Over the years it has been my experimentation that has evolved my eclectic Wiccan magical and spiritual practice into what it is today.

I use positive affirmations daily. One I use often as a business owner is:

I am a successful business owner with my services & art in high demand.

This has worked okay for me. I won’t say results have been fantastic because my results from using ONLY this affirmation have not met my expectations or needs, but it was a very good start.

I decided to branch out and create a daily morning ritual for myself that basically sets up my entire day and helps me to be as successful as I can be each day. It’s very simple and requires the following:

  • a cup of coffee or your favorite warm beverage: warm because warm liquids cup-of-coffeeconvey energy more effectively than cold liquids & a cold drink WILL NOT WORK,
  • a sharp knife, preferably a non-serrated steak or butcher knife whose blade can fit inside the size cup you use,
  • your focus and concentration,
  • a positive attitude fueled by positive expectations

Notice that you won’t have to make a special trip to any store in order to purchase any of the materials for this little ritual. Not only is it simple and quick to perform, it’s also cheap! Win-win!

The first thing to do is to create a list of several things you wish to attract into your life. These can be wishes that you hope will one day manifest. Your wish list should be as specific as you can make it. Don’t just wish for a “new car.” Wish for a “new car that is: blue, with a gray interior, with excellent millage, is a comfortable ride for long distances, & is always reliable.” This was a spell from 2009. It resulted in a Subaru Forester that meets all of the above specifications. I always tell my Wicca students “the more specific you are, the more successful you will be in manifesting your wishes.”

So far for this little ritual  I have experimented with 3 – 7 wishes. I have not attempted more than 7 as I intuitively feel that would diffuse the energy too much causing the ritual to become ineffective.

Once you have created your wish list consider who you will ask for help in your endeavor. I highly recommend you call on some form of a higher power. This can be God, Jesus, some pagan deity – it doesn’t matter. What is most important is that you have faith that this form of a higher power can actually help you to manifest your desires.

Once you know upon whom you will call for help it’s time to formulate a simple statement that will encompass your wishes. You create your statement by first calling on your higher power for help, then you enumerate your wishes one after the other. You continue by expressing gratitude to your higher power for granting your wishes. You conclude your little ritual by stating that these wishes are now manifest in your life. They are your reality.

Here is the statement that I use. It varies as I focus on manifesting different things in my life. I also focus on clearing the lack in my life of those things for which I wish.  By focusing on banishing the lack of what I hope to manifest I am conversely attracting to me what I desire while at the SAME TIME blocks are being removed that may have been preventing these wishes from manifesting in my life. I do not need to be consciously aware of actual blocks, but my goddess will be aware and She can work on clearing them for me.

Have your cup of coffee prepared by adding whatever you like in your coffee (or not, your choice), but DO NOT stir it yet. As you vocalize your statement slowly stir your coffee with the knife counterclockwise. This is the direction of banishing in magic. Here, I am focusing upon banishing or removing the lack of what I desire in my life.

My statement is as follows ~

Great Mother Goddess Isis, through Whom all things are possible & nothing is impossible, I ask as I stir with my knife that you remove all lack of financial abundance & prosperity from my life. As I stir with my knife I ask that you remove all lack of healing & good health from my life. As I stir with my knife I ask that you remove all lack of love, happiness, & harmony from my life. Through you, Mighty Isis, all things are possible. Through you, Mighty Isis, nothing is impossible. I thank you for all the blessings you have brought to my family & I and all the blessings yet to come. Thank you for making my wishes manifest in my life. In your holy & most powerful name, Mother Isis, so mote it be. AMEN.

Notice that I use the word “lack” prior to stating what I wish to manifest in my life. I am banishing the lack of the manifestation of specific wishes & desires. Therefore, I stir my coffee counterclockwise with my knife as I envision the knife cutting the lack of what I desire from my life. The knife is metaphorically cutting blockages, obstacles, and whatever else may be working against you or standing in your way. This is why it’s important to use a knife and not a spoon for this ritual.

Next, you visualize yourself enjoying the wishes as they manifest in your life while you enjoy your cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate. The beverage can be of any type as long as it’s hot.

drinking-coffeeAs I take that first sip of coffee I see myself being financially prosperous. I take a second sip as I see myself healed and in good health. As I take a third sip I see myself living a life filled with love, harmony, & happiness with my husband & daughter. I then rotate back to my first wish with the fourth sip, and on until I finish my cup of coffee.

Be sure as you take the first few sips of your beverage that you see yourself having what it is you desire. Go right down your list item by item. See yourself enjoying each wish as it manifests in your life and feel the emotions that it would bring up in you if that desire actually was made manifest in your life.

Be sure you use one sip for each specific item on your wish list. As you conclude your wish list go back to the first wish with the next sip and then work your way down your wish list a second time, and continue to do so until you have finished your drink.

I do feel that the more things you wish for then the weaker the energy becomes. I actually do try to keep it to 3 – 4 wishes, but I have focused on as many as 7, but I do think that’s a bit too much. Perhaps focus on 5 wishes at the most until you become more proficient at performing this little ritual and you start to see real changes in your life.

Always remember to express thanks at the conclusion of your wish list. As you finish your beverage also offer up gratitude again, then simply go about your day knowing and having faith that your wishes will find a way to manifest in your life.

As for me, I have been performing this simple little ritual every morning with my cup of coffee for about two months now. As a result of this ritual I have seen an increase not only in the income I gain through my online business, but my husband’s business has really picked up as well. I have also been able to easily fight off what was probably attempting to turn into a sinus infection & I have beaten two sore throats within 24 hours without having any additional symptoms. My family has been severely stressed for a long time due to my husband losing his job in October, 2015 and starting a new business in March, 2016. Now we are back to laughing & joking constantly like we did when my husband was still a banker. We are all much happier and are living more harmonious lives with one another.

All in all, I can honestly say this simple ritual has worked real wonders in my life; and, I sincerely hope that it works as well for you as it has for me.

Wishing you many blessings!

Trump & Binding Magic

The word is that today, February 24, 2017 witches are going to band together in a concerted effort to perform a binding on President Trump.

Let me state up front: I am NOT a Trump supporter; however, we are stuck with him as our President so we must make the best of this situation.

A binding spell strips a person of their personal power. They become ineffective in all that they attempt to accomplish. Do these witches really wish for an American president to become completely ineffectual and powerless? That would put the United States of America at great risk! It would put her people at great risk.

Please reconsider!!

newbie witch.jpgA binding is NOT the way to do this. In fact, a binding will only cause a severe karmic backlash for whoever decides to participate. I really do not believe these newbie or wannabe witches even know what they’re doing. Bindings exist for the chief purpose of dealing with a person who has escaped justice, who has severely wronged or hurt another. A binding is then performed to prevent that person from harming or wronging someone else.

That is the true nature of a binding. What these newbie witches are suggesting is that the binding be performed with the intention of stripping the President of his personal power. I have seen a binding ritual in circulation that even invokes demons. Demons? Really? Would you seriously wish to ask a demon for help in anything? Such “help” comes at a VERY HIGH price. Practitioner beware!!

Whatever happened to karma, or the Law of Three? That’s what I’d like to ask these so-called witches.

I would never do anything to cause anyone else any harm because I don’t believe in harming others and I do what I can to safeguard my karma. I believe in the Law of Three, which simply states that what we send out – whether you are a witch or not & whether you believe in this Law or not – comes back to us three times over. This is true for EVERYONE, not just witches. I constantly see the Law of Three at work in my life and the lives of those close to me. What we send out DOES come back to us. So why send out negative energy when the situation can be taken care of much more effectively with positive energy? This way there is no karmic backlash for the witch and you will not be causing harm to another person.

Those who are thinking of participating in the binding on President Trump, think of it this way. MUCH MORE can be achieved with POSITIVE energy, plus there is no karmic backlash  for you, as there is with a binding. Keep in mind what you send out comes back to you. That is FACT.

For an idea of what you can do instead, here is what I have been doing quietly on my own.

Once a week I light a white candle FOR Trump. That’s right, FOR, not against. I am NOT a Trump supporter. I cannot STAND the man, but I do believe in doing what I can to support my country. When I light that little white candle I focus on Trump & his cabinet having the GOOD SENSE to govern our country for its highest good. I focus on Trump governing with compassion. I focus on clearing his chakras of blocks and imbalances (which he has in abundance, unfortunately).

sally-4-12-top-soot

The most recent St. Michael candle I lit for Trump on January’s full moon. This one actually looks much better than the previous candles!

Sure, all the candles I’ve burned so far have turned black as pitch as if I’m burning them for the devil himself, but hey, perhaps one day they’ll start to burn clear.

I still work at it. Once a week. I ask my pagan friends to please consider doing the same instead of jumping on the Negativity & Fear bandwagon.

Much more good can be accomplished with positive energy than what could ever be carried out via negative energy. The bonus is that you are not harming another person or causing yourself any karmic harm in the process.

Remember, the Light ALWAYS overcomes the dark.

ALWAYS.

Wishing you many blessings!

When the Universe Speaks … Listen

Everyday the universe speaks to us through various avenues of our experience. Often, we’re too busy going about our day to notice. As a result, I have made it a practice to think back over my day at bedtime. By then I’m not doing anything to distract myself, I’m relaxed, and usually ready for bed.

For two days now the universe has sent me a very loud message. These are merely two examples of how the universe can speak to you.

universe-1044107_640

Last October I began working on ideas for a tarot deck. I am now nearly 20 images into it. I am using acrylic paint on canvas paper so this is going to take me a while. Based upon how busy my business is right now I figure I will have the deck completed in probably 2 years. I have not had time to work on it for several weeks now.

A few days ago my husband and I were discussing the option of self-publishing it because it’s a unique idea, but I’ve been told it’s “not really marketable” by a couple of publishers now, but that it’s a great idea. Perplexing to me as that may be, I broached the subject of self-publishing with my husband because it would take quite an investment to produce a deck of quality.

My husband is a sweet man who doesn’t believe in anything I do and will often poke gentle fun at me, but he was quick to say if I believed in the project, then when the time came we’d put the money together and I could work with a local printer to bring my vision to life. He went on to say that I “owed that” to my art and to myself.

I was thrilled with his supportive and encouraging response.

The deck is far from completed, but I’m the type of person who likes to know how the land lays far ahead of time. On Sunday I set the intention that I need to find a local printer who will be able to bring my vision to life with the degree of quality I would require. At that same time I also set the intention of finding images I need to draw for my deck. I am well aware that they must come from a museum collection. Museums copyright images and photos of the items within their collections, so legally I cannot reproduce them in any way for a commercial project. I am well aware of that fact, but I set that intention anyway and went about my week.

When you set intentions to the universe it’s very important to let them go. Release them. Ideally, forget about them and think of other things. This allows the universe free reign to work on manifesting your intentions for you. This is a practice I follow and I can tell you in all honesty it truly does work. This week it worked a treat!

On Wednesday I had to fill in for my husband at his local business networking meeting. They talk about their businesses there and provide referrals for one another. Unfortunately, his business did not receive any referrals this week, but something else happened.

I have only attended their meetings twice before so I’m basically an outsider. Only 3 people speak to me, but as I walked up to sign in this man I had never met before welcomed me and when I told him I was my husband’s better half that really made him laugh. I then walked into the meeting room to sit down. A few minutes later he came in and sat next to me and we continued to chat intermittently.

At one point everyone presents a one-minute presentation about their business. The man got up and stated that he owns a PRINTING business!!

I felt my jaw drop open! He looked at me kind of funny too and laughed. As he sat back down and I stood up to speak about my husband’s business I said to him, “I’d appreciate if you and I could talk a bit after the meeting.” He smiled and said, “sure!”

archwayI recently self-published my first oracle deck, Guidance & Inspiration From the Angelic Realm. I carry it in my purse because you never know when you might make a sale. After the meeting was over I told Eric that I’m an artist and I create decks. His response:

“Oh, really! So you paint images on people’s backyard decks?”

Me: “Uh, no. Not that kind of deck. THIS kind of deck.”

I pulled out the silver satin pouch containing my oracle deck and then he looked really confused. I then showed him a few of the images and he understood. I told him I’m creating a tarot deck and I need to find a local printer who can print the deck, the box, and possibly a guide book to my exact specifications. He nodded and said, “not a problem. I can manage this. Let me know when and we’ll talk more.”

Thus, I found a printer a mere 3 days after setting that intention and then thinking no more about it.

That was yesterday. Today something else happened that has knocked my socks clean off!

My concept for my tarot deck requires that I paint from items that are held in some museum collections around the world. Museums copyright their photographs of the items in the collections so unless you take the photo yourself you really cannot paint a picture of the item in a museum’s photograph without running up against possible copyright infringement.

Today, as I was online I saw an article that made the startling announcement that the Metropolitan Museum of Art was releasing its copyright of images in its collection that are within the public domain! This includes not only works of art, but other items in the MET’s collection!!

I honestly didn’t believe it. I thought it was fake news! I checked other sources and the story is real! I went to the MET’s website and there was their Collections page already set up where you can search their data base of images and look for public domain images! I had also set this intention on Sunday so that must have been a high energy day. I was stunned at how the printer and the much-needed museum images just fell neatly into my lap.

I am now setting the intention that the British Museum follow suit, if they haven’t already (I need to check!) because they have items within their vast collections that I also need to depict in my tarot deck, but in a pinch I can get buy with using the photographs from the MET and I no longer have to worry about copyright infringement. Furthermore, it will be a simple matter of searching their database to find the exact images I need! This will eliminate a great deal of time searching for images within the public domain.

I was so excited about this that I visited the MET’s Collections page and have already downloaded 12 images for 12 future paintings for my tarot deck!!

Now all I need to do is manifest the time I need to create those paintings.

The universe speaks, so listen up. You’ll be surprised at what you hear.

Wishing you many blessings!

How To Clear Your Energy Easily

I’m sure everyone has had the “blahs” or a day when you just don’t feel quite yourself. You may think that perhaps it’s stress or maybe you’re coming down with some type of bug. Whatever the case may be, you are feeling out of sorts, but can’t put your finger on the cause.

This is where a very quick and simple spiritual cleansing of your energy body can do wonders for you. My aunt taught me this method & I have used it most of my life so I pass it along to you. May it help you as much as it has helped me over the years.

Materials:

  • Your body
  • a broom
  • two full glasses of water

If you like, you can place the water in a pitcher, or just have 2 full glasses of water within easy reach. My aunt always prayed to Archangel Michael over the glasses of water. You can do that or pray to whomever you resonate with the best. If you are attuned to Reiki or any other healing modality, feel free to give your water a burst of energy before you use it.

My Aunt’s Method:

My aunt was Catholic so she began by saying this prayer to Archangel Michael:

Archangel Saint Michael, Defend us in our battles. Be our protection against the wickedness & snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, Thrust into hell satan & all evil forces who wander the world for the ruin of souls. Amen.

She would say this prayer while holding her hands over the water with her fingers together as though she was wearing a tight fitting pair of mittens. Her palms would be facing the water. I have seen her do this with one palm over each glass of water, or both palms held over a pitcher of water. Your choice.

Next, she would anoint her forehead by dipping the index finger of her dominant hand into the first glass of water. She would then make the Sign of the Cross on her forehead and also over her heart. If you’re not Christian or the Cross makes you feel uncomfortable (after all, it was a method of extreme torture), you can substitute the Cross for another symbol that conveys to you the meanings of holiness, spirituality, and protection. Other ideas are: the Egyptian Ankh (which is what I use since I work with Egyptian deities), the pentagram, Star of David, Hamsa, and so on.

Next, drink the first glass of water down completely. You can do this as slowly or quickly as you wish.

besom-altarGrab your broom. This can be any kind of broom, but I use a besom, as did my aunt. It’s otherwise known as a “witch’s broom.”

Hold the broom with the bristles pointed upward. The broom should be straight over your head so that the base of the broom handle is in your hands, which are directly above your head.

Swing the broom in a counterclockwise circle over your head beginning with a tiny circle that approximately matches the circumference of your head. Sweep the broom in ever widening circles until you are swinging it outward as far as you can. Be sure you’re  not near anything that you may knock over with your broom.

Work your hands up the length of the broom’s handle. Beginning in the front of your chest hand the broom handle over from your right to your left hand. You are going to now use the broom to “sweep” a circle around your body.

Be sure the bristles of the broom are facing UP for the entire cleansing process.

With the broom handle now securely held by your left hand move it so the broom is basically behind your back. You have just “swept” the area of your aura from your chest through your left-hand side and approximately halfway across your back.

Next, place your right hand behind you and grab the broom handle with it. Continue the counterclockwise motion along the right-hand side of your body and on back to your chest area.

Repeat this three times with the bristles always remaining at chest height.

Work your hands further up the broom handle and hold the broom so the bristles are now level with your navel. You may actually be holding the base of the bristles themselves, depending on the size of your besom or broom. That is fine. Repeat the same process making sure the bristles are pointed UP. Begin with the broom handle in your right hand. Move it across your body to your left & grab the handle with your left hand so you can continue the sweep across your back, then grab the broom while it’s still behind you with your right hand and complete the circle so that the bristles are back at your navel.

Repeat three times.

At this point, switch the orientation of the broom so that the bristles now face the floor, but DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO TOUCH THE FLOOR.

Begin by holding the broom handle in your right hand. Sweep the air just above your feet, but do not allow the bristles of the broom to come into contact with the floor. Should this happen you’ll have to start over from the beginning, but you can skip drinking another glass of water.

Complete the counterclockwise circle around your feet three times.

Set your broom aside and thank whomever you have called upon at the start of your cleansing for their help and protection. Do this in your own words.

Ask whomever you called upon in the beginning to bless the second glass of water with blessings. You can ask for particular blessings you need; for example: good health, healing, love, prosperity,  a new job, and so on.

You can ask that the water be charged for 3 different blessings.

Drink the glass of water.

Give thanks.

It is done.

This cleansing can be repeated any time you feel the need. You can also perform this cleansing on others, but be sure that whoever receives the cleansing is the person to drink the water. If you do this on your pets they are not required to drink any water.

Leave a comment to let me know how this worked for you or send me an email at IsisRaAnpu@gmail.com.

Wishing you many blessings!

The Coloring Books of Amy Zerner & Monte Farber

I have enjoyed coloring since I was 2 years old. I have been very pleased with the advent of the adult coloring book phenomenon & extremely pleased that Amy Zerner and Monte Farber have created two delightful adult coloring books for Harper Elixer. Their titles are: The Enchanted Tarot and Enchanted Worlds. The daughter of classic coloring book & greeting card illustrator, master artist Jessie Spicer Zerner, Amy Zerner followed in the artistic footsteps of her mother and is world renown for her tapestry collage art that has resulted in several tarot and oracle decks as well as unique clothing designs. Both coloring books are dedicated to Amy’s mother. All accompanying text is written by Amy’s husband, Monte Farber, who is an author in his own right, astrologer, and psychic. Together they have been a publishing tour de force for several decades.

enchanted-tarot-coloring-book-coverThe Enchanted Tarot adult coloring book consists of the major arcana and sixteen court cards from the tarot deck of the same title. Amy Zerner provided detailed line drawings of each image. Monte Farber provides the text that accompanies each image that includes the card’s title, positive phrase related to the meaning of the card, and a list of keywords. The text accompanying each image is provided on the facing page so as you work on coloring the image you can easily refer to the text on the left-hand opposite page.

At first glance the drawings for The Enchanted Tarot may appear to be overly intricate, but this is due to Amy Zerner including line demarcations for shading on faces, clothing, and other design elements. This element is not found in most coloring books so artists who enjoy shading to illustrate depth and dimension will appreciate the added line details.

As you begin to work in the Enchanted Tarot coloring book I would recommend you begin with the larger areas first and work down toward the smaller more intricate areas of the illustration. Above is the Chariot card from the Enchanted Tarot deck and coloring book. Here is the same illustration again, but now it has been partially colored.

Due to the detail of each image I do not recommend using crayons with The Enchanted Tarot coloring book. You will need an artistic medium that allows you a good degree of control over the application of color. Instead of crayons, I have used and recommend the following mediums:

  • Colored pencils
  • watercolor pencils
  • dual-tipped water-based markers (fine point at one end, brush at the other)
  • gel & glitter pens

You will need an artistic medium that allows your hand a great deal of control, so anything that ends in a point will work well. I do not recommend  alcohol-based markers, such as Copics. They will bleed through the paper. More on product specifics regarding coloring below.

Monte Farber describes their other coloring book, Enchanted Worlds, as a “magical enchanted-worlds-coloring-book-coverjourney through the world of imagination.” It clearly delivers on that promise. Whereas Amy Zerner’s illustrations for The Enchanted Tarot coloring book are fine lined & quite detailed, her drawings for the Enchanted Worlds coloring book are drawn with a thicker line. There are also more areas of the illustrations that have been solidly inked in, which adds black to the overall composition that makes colors pop when added by the colorist. I would say that the Enchanted Worlds coloring book is easier to color than The Enchanted Tarot, but as long as you keep your pencils sharpened The Enchanted Tarot makes for a fine coloring book as well. Those of you with less patience, however, I would definitely recommend the Enchanted Worlds coloring book to you over The Enchanted Tarot.

The Enchanted Worlds adult coloring book is organized in the same manner as The Enchanted Tarot coloring book. All text appears on the left-hand page with the image to color on the right-hand page. The text of the Enchanted Worlds is also written by Monte Farber and includes the title of the illustration accompanied by a positive affirmation or a brief description of the symbols included in the illustration. For example, the text accompanying “Gentleness” reads: “[t]he Flower Fairy makes her way across the rosy dreamscape, greeted by awakened birds, elves, and flowers, symbols of gentleness and compassion.”

The Enchanted Tarot and Enchanted Worlds are no ordinary coloring books. If colored with intention the act of coloring becomes meditative and magical. According to the Artist herself:

With my books, while you color, you are meditating on the magic and meaning of each image, with words and affirmations by Monte. It becomes a ritual. We incorporate the intention of each tarot card and affirm each Enchanted World drawing with a message. We always like to balance wise words and images. That is our specialty. There becomes an ebb and flow between image and the silence and the words. In this way, coloring is elevated to a spiritual practice ~ Amy Zerner.

As an artist myself, I can vouch for the fact that the act of artistic creation is a large part of my spiritual practice. I enter a “zone” when I am creating and though I may suffer from artistic frustrations upon occasion, I always come out of a creative session feeling renewed and uplifted. Adult coloring books like The Enchanted Tarot and Enchanted Worlds now make the benefits of creative meditation accessible to everyone regardless of artistic experience.

The remainder of this review is intended for artists and colorists who wish to know the technical details, which apply to both coloring books and are as follows:

  • Overall size: 8 1/2 x 11 x 5.8″
  • Paperback
  • Page total: The Enchanted Tarot (80) Enchanted Worlds (82)
  • Images: 38
  • Perforation: none
  • Protective sheet: none
  • Paper weight: 80 lbs
  • Recommended artistic mediums:
    • colored pencils ~ layering & burnishing up to 4 layers of colors works well on this paper weight. I have not tried more than 4 layers of color.
    • watercolor pencils ~ 3 layers work well, but use minimal water for blending. I used just enough water to get the colors to blend.
    • water-based markers ~ I used Tomball, Zig, and a generic no-name store brand. This paper holds up well to 3 layers of blended water-based markers. As you add a fourth layer be careful because at this point the color will begin to bleed through the page. If layering more than 3 colors I would recommend inserting a blank sheet of paper to avoid bleed-through on the following image.
    • crayons work well on any type of paper and work well for the Enchanted Worlds coloring book, but due to the intricacy of the illustrations for The Enchanted Tarot coloring book, I do not recommend crayons.

Note: If you are like me you may be hesitant to mar your coloring book with color. There is a simple fix. This is what I do with my coloring books. I basically very carefully take them apart. This is the method I use and so far I have not ruined a single image:

  • I carefully cut or tear the front and back covers from the spine of the coloring book.
  • Next, I begin with the first image (or title page) and carefully bend the page back and forth against the binding. Bend the page along where the paper actually meets the glue of the binding.
  • As you see the page begin to give slightly, VERY carefully pull or rip the page from the book. Do this slowly with patience.
  • Do the same to the last page of the coloring book.
  • Return and repeat the process with the remaining front page, then the remaining back page, and so on until you have pulled all the pages free from the spine.

I keep my coloring page originals in a manila file folder with the book cover for reference. When I wish to color an image I make a copy. Keep in mind that copies made on a printer can bleed based upon what type of ink you use in your printer.

The adult coloring book “fad” appears to be here to stay. A trip to my local book and craft stores have become increasingly dangerous to my pocketbook as increasing numbers of coloring books appear on the shelves. Amy Zerner’s artwork translates very well to the coloring book medium and these books will be enjoyed by anyone who wishes for a bit of creative magic in their life.

Blessings!
