This is the inaugural post for a new feature at my blog, Tarot Tuesday, for which I will provide a short reading for that week’s energies. The week runs from Tuesday – Monday and the energies for the week will cover the Emotional, Mental, and Spiritual.
This week’s deck is The Golden Tarot of Klimt, published by Lo Scarabeo.
What amazed me is that I randomly drew 3 cards from the deck and they all ended up being from the major arcana. This tells me immediately that very powerful forces are at work this week. Major arcana cards embody universal spiritual forces that affect all our lives at various times. We have some very powerful energy coming into play for this week, as you will see from the cards below.
Emotional energies are represented by The Hierophant. This card depicts a man in a robe holding a staff. The traditional interpretation is dogma, rules, doing things by the book, and the established status quo.
Regarding the emotional energies of the week, what I sense from The Hierophant is that many of us really do not like change. I know I don’t. There is great comfort and a sense of security in things remaining as they are, even if we’re not happy with the situation. Some of us would rather be unhappy than deal with change. The Hierophant is very set in his ways. A real stick-in-the-mud. He doesn’t want to budge.
What I sense of this week’s energies tells me that we will be called upon to think outside the box. Doing things the “usual way” worked for quite a while and we still wish to cling to our old approach, but we’re entering a time of great change for our planet. All of these recent storms and earthquakes are proof of that.
The usual way of doing things will not serve our highest good at this time, though we find great comfort in the “norm” and change upsets most people. Our usual responses to the emotional stimuli we face in a typical week will not suffice. We shall be called upon to basically rise above ourselves. For example, if a certain person stands on your last raw nerve and you typically react with anger, this week you will be called upon to react differently. Perhaps with understanding and compassion as you make an effort to place yourself in their shoes. What are they mirroring about yourself that you may not wish to examine?
The mental energies of the week are represented by The Lovers. The Lovers embody the universal spiritual forces of choice, attraction, temptation, and yes, it can mean a romantic relationship, but in a reading that is meant to be for many people it most likely is not your romantic relationship so we’ll stick with the energies of the card.
What I sense from The Lovers is that although we may be required to think or react in ways that are different or unusual from our norm, the temptation will be to fall back on old patterns. Your Ego will think it knows better and will attempt to manipulate you to follow your typical response patterns to emotional stimuli, so that person who stands on your last nerve – your Ego will say, go ahead, get angry or lash out, but The Hierophant is here pointing the way toward a more positive reaction. Your Ego will bring up your fears and insecurities. Do not fall into the trap it sets for you. Look past your fears.
The spiritual energies of the week are represented by The World. The World embodies the universal spiritual forces of completion, cycles, and potential. What better image than a woman about to give birth?
Spiritually, there is TREMENDOUS potential for growth right now. This applies to everyone. As our planet goes through new birthing pains that energy is affecting each of us. It is up to us as individuals as to what we do with that energy. Will you put all that potential to good use in order to promote your own growth; or, will you bury your head in the sand by insisting on doing things the same way you always have and miss out on all this new energy and growth that has recently entered the earth plane?
I am thinking of all the new energy that came in with the solar eclipse of August 21st. Did you feel it? I sure did. It nearly knocked me on my ass for 2 days. It was a great deal for me to process it, and I know I was not the only one affected in that manner.
It takes a real leap of faith to accept new energy into your life because we can never know how things will work out. There is no “plan.” We don’t have a map we can easily follow from point A to point B and beyond. We are pretty much wandering around clueless as to where all this is going to lead us as individuals and as a collective.
We can only have faith that all this “newness” and upheaval will end up being for our highest good in the long run. We have VERY positive forces at work here as these cards demonstrate, so hang on. It’s going to be one hell of a ride.
Magical & spiritual education never ends. It’s basically a bottomless pit of age old wisdom
