For those of you who may have never heard of the term before, briefly – Mercury Retrograde occurs 3 – 4 times each year. This is when Mercury appears to be moving backwards in its orbit to the naked eye. This is actually an optical illusion. The retrograde period lasts an average of 2 1/2 – 3 weeks.
